Introduction To The Intermediate Guide For Toto Asia
The Band Toto Asia
Toto was expanding its production facilities overseas and was doing business in France, Germany, Indonesia, Korea, Taiwan, Thailand and the People’s Republic of China. The company believed that North America as a growth market for Washlet bidets and toilets, as opposed to its “base” markets of Japan and China.
Dhaniram Toto documented Toto words so that the next generation could understand them. However, many of the words were being replaced by foreign ones, like dui from Bengali for verandah.
Origins
Incorporated in 1917, Toto’s early years mirrored Japan’s economic development. In the beginning of its existence, the company manufactured products to meet the demand for new, modern urban housing. To accomplish this, it employed the country’s first tunnel kiln to make ceramics in a continuous flow. It also pioneered the use automation to control production, allowing for greater efficiency and consistency.
The company began expanding its operations overseas in the late 1980s in order to profit from new markets and sales opportunities. The company founded the Cera Trading Company to import and market other manufacturers’ products to enhance its own line of sanitary earthenwares and plumbing fittings. This strategy increased sales and increased the company’s global market share.
In the 1990s, Toto had shifted its emphasis to research and development of household appliances that use water. It also improved its distribution system to better serve customers and improve profit. The company implemented a just-in-time method of managing supply chains, and it used the same method for its sales process. This resulted in a higher level of customer satisfaction.
Toto continues to invent toilet technology. The latest toilet from the company features a powerful, environmentally-friendly tornado flush. The company makes use of recycled water for its manufacturing process, and also has a green purchasing policy. Toto also manufactures faucets, bathtubs and hand dryers with higher energy efficiency than typical models.
The first Toto museum opened in the year 2015. It features exhibits on Toto’s seminal products as well as their evolution, group companies (all of which are made from ceramics) and 스포츠토토 the history of plumbing, and even bath units. In a separate gallery you can view Toto products sold all over. The museum also has a bathroom that features a WASHLET toilet as well as other toilet-related innovations.
Before the formation of Toto the members of the group did sessions for various musicians. Keyboardist David Paich, drummer Jeff Porcaro and guitarists Mike Porcaro and Steve Lukather all played on the album Silk Degrees by Boz Scaggs. They also performed on records by Steely Dan, Seals and Crofts, and Sonny and Cher.
Discography
With a name like Asia you’d think that the group would be prog queens and kings – but it’s actually a fairly straightforward rock group. The group began as a group and recorded two albums – 1979’s self titled debut and 1980’s Armed to the Teeth. But even though the band have a variety of musical backgrounds their biggest hit was in 1982 with Toto IV.
The album was a huge blockbuster, however it did not come without its share of issues. Record companies put the band on the place with the directive “give us an album that is a success or we’ll take you off the market” and the pressure was on them to give it. Luckily for Toto, they did, with the help of the smash hit single “Africa.”
Toto’s musical mastery is the result of their prior experience. Before forming the group, the band members were session musicians for artists like Boz Scaggs. Steely Dan and Seals and Crofts. Their sonic signature has since become the standard for pop music from the 1980s, and has influenced many modern artists.
The album begins hard with songs such as Running Out of Time or Unknown Soldier that show the band’s ability to write great AOR tunes that slowly get into your head. The album also includes some slow, jazzier tracks like The Little Things and Chinatown. The album closes with Great Expectations. This song is a mix of folk and distortion AOR, which should seem like a complete blunder, but is very effective.
After Toto IV the band’s fortunes began to decline. David Hungate left the band to pursue a solo career. The band was dominated by drummers. In 1984, Bobby Kimball left the band following drug-related charges. The band continued with Michael Porcaro, Steve Lukather and Michael Porcaro.
Toto released Isolation despite the turmoil. It was not as well-liked as IV. The band managed to release an album that topped the charts, Kingdom of Desire, in 1992. The album marked the end of the original Toto lineup and was the first to feature a new singer, Simon Phillips.

Line-up
The album’s third, Turn Back, marked an reversion to the classic sextet arrangement of previous albums and was a more ferocious, consistent effort that had a harder edge than Hydra. Its edgier sound was a reflection of the maturation of the group and included drummer Bobby Kimball’s improved proficiency on the drums, as well as a more confident, mature vocal delivery from singer Joseph Williams. Keyboardist David Paich’s work was more precise, sharper, and less derivative than previously recorded performances.
After touring to promote the album, the band recorded a live show in Amsterdam which was released as a set of two CDs entitled Falling In Between Live on Eagle Records. The studio album came out just a few months later and the band embarked on a long-distance tour in support of the album. During this time, keyboardist Greg Phillinganes replaced Paich and bassist David Hungate quit the group to spend time with his family.
In 1998, Paich and Lukather started looking through old demos and tapes in search of a new album featuring songs that were never recorded before. The album was released in 2001 as a duo album titled Then and Now. It was the first album in the history of the band not to feature a single song with the word “A” in its title. It also included one previously unreleased track, “Kari-Anne”.
By 2003, Toto had begun to decline in popularity. The fourth album, Old Is New, was a commercial failure and vocalist Williams suffered from a bad laryngitis infection that limited his singing abilities. Hungate also returned to Nashville and Leland Sklar’s drumming duties were replaced by Shem Von Schroeck.
Downes, Wetton Palmer and Howe, the original members of Asia were in England in the early part of 2006 to discuss the possibility that the band could be reformed. The lineup, which was minus Howe (who was working with Yes at the time), eventually became known as Toto XIV and toured extensively.
In 2010, the band reunited for another reunion tour with a slightly different line-up, including guitarists Mike Porcaro and Steve Lukather, drummer John Pierce, bassist Shannon Forrest, and multi-instrumentalists Warren Ham and Dominique Taplin. The band also featured an appearance by singer Michael McDonald, and a backing singer named Mabvuto Carpenter.
